Navratri : Gujarati’s Favourite Festival !

Navratri is the festival of nine days. It’s believed that each day has a different story of Ma Durga having a war with demon king, known as the Mahishasura.  Mahishasura worship lord Shiva and gain super power with the help of this power he treat people badly and considered himself a god. As he starts harassing people with his power and do not let people to praised other god.to solve this problem Lord Shiva, brahma and Vishnu came together and couples their power and created goddess durga to kill Mahishasura. it is believe that this war was last for nine long days.

This was a reason behind celebrating Navratri but do you know why people of Gujarat play Garba on these days??

The nine forms of Devi are correlated not only to the nine nights of fighting Mahisasura, but also the nine Tantric cakras. In the Tantric tradition, each incarnation is linked to a cakra, which are important nodes along the body that are part of an interconnected system of energy and spiritual experience. The conceptualisation of the nine Devis as each cakra culminates in the revelation of a tenth form, Adi parasakti, who is in reality all nine forms in one. The process theology presented here is both a meaningful spiritual framework for one’s personal growth, as well as linking social justice with Hindu faith concepts. Among the most distinguished of festivals rejoiced in Gujarat is Navratri. This nine-day long festival is celebrated to glorify and worship Goddess Durga or Shakti.
